Carbon Credits Token
Type: Semi-Fungible Token (SFT)

A Carbon Credit SFT represents 1 tonne of carbon sequestered by the underlying nature-based asset. Each nature-based asset project is differentiated by SFT collections.

Nature-Based Asset Token
Type: Fractionalisable NFT (F-NFT)

A fractionalisable NFT that represents the underlying nature-based asset such as mangroves. Assets are monitored through IoT devices in real-time.

Utility Token Functionalities

The OceanBlocks utility token ensures a self-sustaining economy within the ecosystem by rewarding supporters in the form of staking rewards. As trades occur within the platform, 2 things happen:

  1. A percentage of $ESV of the trade is diverted to top-up the staking rewards wallet.
  2. A percentage of $ESV of the trade is diverted into a burn wallet to be taken out of circulation forever.

As nature-based asset projects are created, they have the ability to sequester carbon over time, enabling credits to be created and traded to enable emitters to offset their emissions.

An SFT collection represents carbon sequestered by an underlying nature-based asset. This collection mechanism is important as not all carbon credits are created equal.
